BigCupid.com is one of the few sites I've seen to be targeted not just to BBW otherwise known as big, beautiful women, but also BHM, or big, handsome men. They offer chat rooms, emails and instant messaging, although you need to upgrade to premium membership to initiate messages. One drawback to the site is that localized searching beyond entire cities is not available even with the advanced search options. It has limited traffic, so far, but with the popularity of some its advanced features such as video profiles, it seems as if it might really take off soon.
