The profile quality at Amigos is hard to determine if you don’t hand over your credit card. You need to be a paid member in order to view any of the profiles on the site in any detail. This is a major flaw in the design of the site as it makes it very hard for new users to determine what other members have to offer. However, if you simply look at the questions you can answer in your profile section, you’ll see that Amigos offers users many chances to give in-depth descriptions of themselves.

Amigos has loads of detailed search options, in large part because of all the info possible to add when posting profiles. I should preface this by saying that if you only have a free account, you’ll only have a few criteria available to you. Local searches, for example, are considered a premium feature based on US zip codes only.

When it comes to membership options, Amigos.com gives you a variety of options to suit your individual needs. As a free member, you can only view partial summaries of profiles, send signs of interest and search but you can’t initiate contact with anyone – as is generally expected.

However, if a paid member is interested in you, they can send you an email and you can then respond and take things to the next level. If you want to take part in some “initiating” action, you can get a basic silver membership for about $10 a month, which is next to rock bottom as far as dating site prices go.

For an extra $10, you can even have your profile highlighted to draw extra attention. Paid members also have their profiles shop up first in search results, which can be very helpful when it comes to improving your visibility on the site.

Nevertheless, despite the limitations on free access Amigos has maintained a good amount of traffic probably because of the wide range of other things it offers such as blogs, dating articles, chat rooms and group forums. These are open to everyone and create a sense of community with only a few special areas separately reserved for premium members to use within the public sections.

If you’re looking for Latin love, Amigos.com seems to be able to deliver the goods. Although it never displays the total amount of results in a search, we've already mentioned that its traffic ranking shows that it's successful at attracting a solid following of singles. Therefore, Amigos might be just what you need if you’re in for a healthy helping of Latin romance.
