Welcome to Anastasia Web where every Russian bride appears to be an aspiring model! The websites tag line is “the fastest way to reach thousands of Russian ladies,” and indeed, there does appear to be many thousands of profiles on the site. Organized tours to the country for finding women to marry have been around for a long time. Now, the Internet looks to make the whole “mail order” shopping aspect a little easier. We took a peek at Anastasia Web to see if was worth your time and here’s what we found.

The profiles on AnastasiaWeb seem to set off warning bells. There are at least two pictures of each girl taken in a professional photo studio and airbrushed to perfection. Normally on dating sites, you get a mix of great pictures and poor ones and some people don’t have any at all. Not on AnastasiaWeb.com. These girls look like they’re straight out of the pages of a fashion magazine. The write-ups in the profiles are also suspect as they are all written with full details. Who does that? We're not sure, so that's why we advise caution.

The site and its Russian bride tours are organized by a central agency. When registering, the girls may be required to have a professional photo shoot done as well as be given help so that their profiles meet minimal requirements for words as well as clarity. This explains why better than average profiles appear on AnastasiaWeb.com. I guess you could still see the real woman behind the profile, but shown in the best light. No matter what explanations are provided, this site still seems like it requires a measure of caution.

Obviously, localized searches on this sort of international site are useless to most folks. However, you can search by general geographic area, if you plan on touring the country, as well as by height, weight, children and level of knowledge of the English language. The site allows keyword searches, too. However, other than that, the search options are bare.

The site proves to be quite popular, but traffic numbers are probably more indicative of the male visitors from outside of the former USSR. Many women join by visiting the agency in person, not by logging onto the Internet. Members are organized by when their profile was inputted—not by when a girl was last on. Therein lies another problem, as it’s impossible to tell which if these women are still available.

It offers services like flower delivery, over-the-phone meetings and tours through the country. These extra features go the extra mile and help give members a more rounded approach to finding a Russian bride. Its credit-based pricing might seem steep for some. However, Anastasia Web has put a lot of energy into producing a great site, so it seems worthwhile, at least from where I sit. Just remember: click with caution.

They block you email address from the women. It will cost you 7 to 8 dollars to read an email and 7-8 dollars to send a reply. All the company seems to do is milk you for more money. One woman told me it is forbidden for them to send me mail directly. The company loves selling chunks of credits, and blocking direct contact which would result in reduced revenue for the firm. Look for a better deal.
