On some sites, I might interpret such a response as spam, but it seemed genuine enough to me in this case. AsianEuro.com is quite popular and given the profile of the individual who showed interest so quickly, the site seems to attract people truly interested in getting married to someone abroad. I have to say I was impressed even by the small amount of anecdotal evidence of the potential for success.

It's not just empty bias. This site is from a company that runs a large network of foreign marriage sites. The others, although seemingly less popular, all provide a service that I tend to think of as slightly superior to traditional mail-order bride sites. Connections seem to be made more directly between members, which makes it seem more genuine. For the highest-level of membership, an automatic translation service is provided for messages so that your communications with foreign connections can be understood. The translating may be done by software, not by a person. However, many online services charge a per-message fee for translation, which even if the quality of the translation is usually promised to be topnotch, it sure would get pricey in the end. I'd rather have a chance to communicate at my own pace without worrying about cost, such as you can here.

Furthermore, the message I received had come from a woman who was a paid member of AsianEuro, which meant that I could reply free, adding some evidence of its authenticity. The same would be true of an instant message. I actually discovered that the chat room would become accessible to me as well without upgrading if I posted a photo, after reading the message I received from this subscriber.

The biggest drawback to this one is not particularly relevant given the mission of the service. There are no truly localized search options, beyond country, state, or province, and select cities. The advanced, premium searches allow you to use some of the additional criteria from the profile information provided. It seems less of a deal breaker when trying to make international connections, unless you happen to be planning a trip to a specific part of another country.

Overall, Asian Euro has a decent amount of traffic, convenient translation services for a single monthly fee and all the advantages of a normal online web personals sites.
