Date Match doesn’t bring anything new, or different, to the dating market, but what it does bring, it brings it well. The site, which tends to sway towards the under-40 crowd, is well designed and easy to navigate. Membership is worldwide, but a large percentage of the members are located in North America. Overall, as over two years have passed since our initial review, the site seems to remain a little stagnant, as the design hasn't changed and it hasn't managed to attract more visitors than it did before.

Signing up at DateMatch.com is free. It takes about five minutes and then you are ready to go—well, at least go as far as that free membership will take you, which is probably not as far as you would like. Your free membership allows you to create a profile, complete with pictures if you want and browse through thousands of other profiles on the site. Although filling out a profile doesn’t take very long, the profiles are still detailed enough to give you a decent idea about members and what they are looking for in a relationship. However, this depends on how much they write in the profile, as well.

Date Match has a wide variety of options when it comes to what people may be looking for. When you fill out a profile, you are given about ten different choices for reasons why you are on the site. This includes long-term relationships, short-term relationships, stalk/email, friends, a date, a double date, hanging out, photo exchange and other. As you can see, these options all lean towards a more serious and/or friendly relationship, not the intimate kind, although “other” and photo exchange can be taken any way you want. The site is named DateMatch, not SexMatch.

Another thing that you can do with your free membership is receive mail and instant messages, but to send a reply you'll need a paid membership. Free members can only do basic searches with parameters like age, sex and country. However, with a paid membership you can perform a more advanced search including body type, hair color and city as well as smoking and drinking habits.

Date Match is nothing new, but it's solid with the main features we expect. However, despite some staying power, it does need to work at attracting more visitors to be a true contender. Maybe they should consider a site redesign, or just some more aggressive promotion of the site. Nevertheless, the ability to post a profile, browse around and receive messages for free makes DateMatch.com worth a look if you want to find a relationship, or friendship.
