There is much to be said for a site with great profiles. For its part, DeafPeopleMeet.com goes out of its way to ensure that you put time and energy into the many questions they ask so if you expect to get in and on in seconds, you’ve been warned. It could take up to ten minutes if you wish to answer all of the questions – and we say you should. It says that you’re serious if you’ve gone through the bother of filling out the profile, and serious is usually a good look for anyone wanting to date online.

There is a lot to be said for a dating site that offers strong search options. Deaf People Meet not only has a wide array of search criteria so that you can narrow the member base down to your best options, but it also allows full access to search features for free members, too! Most sites won’t do this. They attempt to bloat their member base by not giving you the ability to drill down to the smallest details. What you’re left with are searches that return large numbers of people. If the man or woman of your dreams went to the bother to fill out those options when they signed up, you should be able to find them quickly.

One of the biggest downsides to this site is that they do little to customize it for the deaf. There are no hearing-related questions or anything of that nature. If there’s enough reason to warrant a special dating site, there should be enough reason for customization. The Deaf People Meet dating site doesn’t have any to speak of, though, and therefore appears to miss the boat on this one.

The greatest problem, though, is the size of its member base. It just doesn’t have the size of community that other more mainstream dating sites boast. As a result, membership comes at a reduced rate of $9.95 a month for the first month and then $7.95 for each following month. We recommend you take a quick search in your area to see if there are any members that pique your interest.

Overall, the site is solid from a technical and design perspective and only lacks in its ability to attract a huge member base. If you’re a believer that quality always rises to the top, then you may want to get in on the ground floor for this one because it shouldn’t be too long before the rest of the Deaf singles population finds their way here.
