Friskie Dating has an interesting spelling that resembles the name of a popular brand of cat food. Nevertheless, it's not specifically for feline fanciers, but for those seeking company of a more human and intimate nature. Despite seeming to focus on placing importance on the possibility of immediacy when meeting someone, the site does have one or two unusual foibles that might leave you needing to be a bit patient and not so in a rush.

For example, I found that filling out the info when creating my free profile was a tad frustrating. I mistakenly thought I had been successful when the page told me 'congratulations on joining FriskieDating.' However, I ended up having to fill out the form a second time, as the first time, my request hadn't gone through, despite the congratulatory message. I would say that the site is quite careful to screen for spammers, which is a good thing, but the extra security steps tend to slow down the signup process a bit.

Once I had become a free member I realized that I could send three "spanks". These are their equivalent of what other sites might call their flirts or smiles. I found that a bit strange as many sites let you use these little signs of interest in unlimited numbers. Moreover, even if you pay for a membership, some things, such as the aforementioned spanks, remain limited. Even email messages have a daily cap of 10 per day at the less expensive of the two premium subscriptions.

Usage of Instant Messaging and the group chat rooms does seem to be unlimited if you upgrade your membership. However, it does not appear that you can communicate with free members. Also, one thing that is missing from FriskieDating.com is a decent set of FAQs. There's a link to a page of questions, but when you follow each link, they redirect you to a blank page. That's truly amateurish despite the obvious slickness of the site design otherwise.

The biggest issue is, of course, that the membership roster seems rather sparse so far and the site is not doing well at attracting surfers to its pages. At least you can search very close to home without having to pay for an advanced search engine. Therefore, you can check out who's online in your area before paying, even if you have limited access to any other site services.

As previously mentioned, there are two levels of membership, one of which seems slightly too expensive due to the lack of visitors and the other which is ridiculously overpriced in comparison to most other sites. They are in need of better promotion and lower pricing. Friskie Dating maybe has some potential, but its pricing is altogether too high.
