I was interested in seeing what Hit Dating had to offer when the site came to my attention. It didn’t look like anything I’d ever seen before and I always like a fresh review. Then I got into it. For better or for worse, this is how it scored…

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more terrible profile system to this point in my dating review career. Getting right to the point, when you run searches, you can only see profiles that appear on the first page. You need to pay to see more than that. This is completely unacceptable and I would avoid this dating site at all costs based strictly on that fact alone. However, what info you can see is opassable.

Presentation is usually a full-mark zone. As long as you can throw some colors up that won’t drive people insane and make it look pretty, a site can score an easy ten. HitDating.com is a little short in the spiffy department. It seems to lack an overall shine that you may expect from today’s leading dating sites. Also, from the advertisements on the bottom of the site, it seems to be really pushing for partner sites. Most sites do this in some way but it’s usually hidden a lot better so that casual surfers don’t have to deal with it. Here’s a Hot Topic for Hit Dating: ditch the affiliate search inside your site!

Search options are laughable as well. You can’t search based on geography -- only by city or state. This is insufficient compared to what just about everyone else is offering, but then we still have to consider that searching won’t get you anywhere anyways because you can’t view profiles beyond the first page!

Free access is essential to seeing what a site holds for new users but Hit Dating chokes on this element. They won’t show you members’ profiles! And no, the handful of profiles that come up on the first page when you search don’t count. Heck, you can’t even send signs of interest! It seems the boat has sailed on this one and Hit Dating has missed it.

The funny thing is, this site “appears” to have members! Our stats say the site gets traffic but I’m bewildered as to who goes there and what they do when they get there. I think I’m going to have to recheck our stats on this one. They must be wrong!

In case you’re confused about the point I’m trying to make here, I wouldn’t recommend HitDating.com to anyone. It’s a tragic miss on so many key points and there are just too many good dating sites out there that deserve your time and attention. This just isn’t one of them.

I found this ok, in the uk the site seemed to have plenty of singles in my county. I joined and paid and found this site to be average but quite usable.
