India Friends says it is one of the biggest and best online dating sites for Indian people around the world. However, it seems to lack visitors. We've checked the numbers via an independent Internet traffic-tracking site. I suppose it is relative. At least it is in some sense. Obviously, we can't check the popularity of all other Indian dating sites on the market. In the end, we need to judge this site on what it offers its members in general.

The signup process is simple enough for IndiaFriends. A few basic dropdown menus and blanks need to be completed to reveal some of your personal details. Two short essays are required where you need to describe yourself and also write what you're looking for and from whom you would hope to find it. I appreciate that although the info asked is far from intrusive, at least there is some mandatory stuff supplied for every profile.

Free searches are limited to within 100 miles of your zip or postal code. Once you upgrade you can get within 50 miles of home. You'll also be able to pick from the multiple checkboxes describing other characteristics beyond location or age. You can do keyword searches. If you find someone who interests you then you can send the standard free "wink" to show your attraction.

You cannot send emails or initiate instant messages until you upgrade. However, you can reply to messages from paid members even before you pay for a premium subscription. That's always good news. First, you might have the chance to make a connection before upgrading. Second, when you do pay, you have a much better chance of getting responses from others you contact.

I appreciate when online dating sites make an effort to create some sense of community for their members. It's pleasing to find that on this site there are members' forums where folks are discussing various topics. Some discussions are related to dating. Other conversations are more general interest. You can also create a "circle of friends" to keep track of some of the contacts you make online and encourage more group interaction.

When you look at search results or browse the profiles, one thing missing is the last date a member was active on the site, which is key information. It's especially true when you consider the site's limited popularity. It hasn't really seen much change in the number of people visiting its pages and needs to promote itself more. However, you have enough free access to judge whether India Friends is right for you despite the lack of last login date info.
