JewishMatch.com is dating site that is geared towards singles that share the same faith. It isn’t yet another cookie-cutter site that’s been stamped out as part of mass production. In other words, you get the feeling that it has been built by those who care about Jewish singles. Here is what else we found when we took our tour…

The profile creation process is a snap to breeze through if you’re in a rush. It was nice to see that they actually added a few questions pertaining to faith, such as how you rate the importance of religion, how often you go to temple or Synagogue. The one drawback to the profiles is that they only allow for one 1,000 character essay question. A thousand characters isn’t a lot of room and they certainly could do with adding a few more questions. Still, it may just be enough to help you find the man or woman of your dreams and give you space so you can write something interesting to itice them!

It is always suspicious when dating sites limit access to search options. Jewish Match, on the other hand, doesn’t fall into this trap. You can search without any hindrance even as a free member, sorting by a particular zip (if you live in the US) and even by how often members have visited the site. This is particularly helpful in finding out how busy a dating site is.

If you are a fan of quick contact options, Jewish Match isn’t the place to play. They only allow for chat in a specific chat room – no instant messaging here. The other problem you’ll find is locating people to talk to.

Jewish singles have it good on JewishMatch.com, at least when you consider how much you can do for free. Right off the bat you can email members without paying a dime. So where’s the catch? There just aren’t many people using the site. A general search for men and women in the US shows that there are only about ten people with picture profiles that have used the site in the last three months. I’m not sure when the site started, but it could be new. If it is, then many fake profiles are sitting there to pad the member base. If it isn’t new, the site just isn’t getting the attention from the public that it will need to survive.

Overall, Jewish Match is a decent site from a technical perspective but it just doesn’t have the legs from a practical standpoint to make it worth your time right now.
