Large Friends specializes in the dating desires of heavyset men and women and their admirers. I like that it caters to both genders and serves all people of size. It's not one of those sites with a good name for a specific market that doesn't really look into the needs of its members. It has clearly taken its time and made a site that’s as big and beautiful as the people it serves.

The profiles at LargeFriends.com contain a decent amount of info. They mostly require filling out some dropdown boxes. Still, they also give you space to write a few words about yourself. No optional questionnaires are offered beyond the basic required info, so they don't go into as much depth as some other sites do. At any rate, until you upgrade, you can only search by basic criteria anyway.

Free searches are limited to a 100-mile radius of your home. The 50-mile option is blocked until you’re ready to join. Photo-only searches are also limited to those who've paid for a membership. Premium members can also do keyword searches, which can help find profiles that mention interests or hobbies that aren't part of the standard profile info. You also won't see last login info until you upgrade.

Free membership is just enough to get your feet wet. You can show interest in someone by sending a wink. You can reply for free to paid members, whether they send you emails or instant messages. There are other free areas of the site to enjoy, too, such as personal blogs and message boards. If your forum post gets enough replies, you might even earn some temporary free access to the site.

You'll constantly be reminded of the features you’re missing out on. An upgrade page appears anytime you try to access a restricted area of the site. The premium features of LargeFriends include daily plus-sized news articles and videos. It isn't completely clear what the vids are about. They're labeled as "largest plus-sized/BBW videos" without any further info. All I know is that the site doesn't allow you to upload your own video intro, so they're not those kinds of vids.

When we first visited the site it had some modest success at attracting people to its pages. Unfortunately, what little popularity it once had seems to have further declined, despite marketing to both big, beautiful women (BBW) and to big, handsome men (BHM), as well as admirers of both. Large Friends needs to expand its numbers, which should be easy as more and more people are fed up with online dating sites populated by stick figures and bodybuilders.

I met my perfect man from this site and we hit it off so well I didn t have to meet anymore. We have been together every chance we get and talk every day. We ve met each other s family and plan to get married soon. We have so much in common it s unbelievable. I have been on many Dating sites but this one just had the perfect man. I say to others just keep trying. Your match is out there.
