SeniorsCircle.com specializes in serving the needs of an older demographic. Like most dating sites, it doesn’t discriminate when it comes to age. That means your profile could be sitting next to a 23-year-old. The good news is that the vast majority of profiles are above the age of 40 and have pictures. Another plus to the system is that after reading through the profiles, you get the feeling that they are real, unlike with some other sites -- general essay write-ups seem to match the pictures and jobs match the level of education. Profiles suffer a bit, though, in that they don’t have the depth that you might find on other sites.

There are plenty of options available if you’d like to narrow your search results. The only problem with search is that when you join, you are able to skip the majority of questions. Unless most people fill them out in their entirety, you could be left wondering where all the people like you are. However, after careful scrutiny, it seems they do put the effort in and that says something about the people you’ll find on this site. Scoring takes a hit when it comes to geographic searches. If you live outside of the United States, you won’t have the same ability to do a really localized examination. Other than that, search at Seniors Circle receives good grades.

The site fails when it comes to quick contact options. The only way to reach members is through email or through installation of their chat client. Installing software on a computer is a big deal unless you’re sure of where its coming from or what it’s going to do. Added to this, when you find where you can install it, there’s a link that says: “Why SocialMessenger is so unique? Tell Me More.” When you click on that link, it gives you instructions on how to install and nothing about what the program does or how it works. It seems rather suspect and at the very least it looks like an option that has been executed poorly. We’ve installed it and it seems to work just fine – the only problem is finding other members who have it.

Free access is easy to come by at Seniors Circle. You can join and browse for free. You can even send “winks” – signs of interest to let other members know what you’re thinking. If they have a paid membership, they can contact you in return. Otherwise, you’ll have to take a test membership. Bonus points come in that at the time of this review, they give a three-day free trial for people who install their chat program. The down side, once again, is that you have to "install" it.

Member numbers aren’t all that strong on this site. A search for men that logged in over the past two days across the whole US came up with about 200 results. The same search for women returned only half that. Although this site may not be teeming with people when compared with other general dating sites, you will probably find a solid amount of people in your area that you can connect with. Do some free searches to find out for yourself.

There aren’t many extra features other than chat and a matchmaking program, so make sure you’re fine with email communication and a straightforward approach to dating before you join Seniors Circle.
