SingleParentLove.com is slightly odd for me and certainly not because I think there's anything wrong with a widowed or divorced mother or father moving on with life, but because I would tend to think you'd be looking for a more local match up. I mean, you might not want to uproot your family while trying to establish stability. Nevertheless, a change might do you good, too, I suppose. Ideally, you have the choice more so than you do on this site, but I'll explain what I mean later.

As per usual, you can fill out a free profile on Single Parent Love. There are several mandatory fields to complete through a series of dropdown menus, as well as two freeform essays to write. There really isn't much specifically about your family, though. I mean, of course you can complete options to display whether you have any kids or not, whether you're willing to relocate or not and whether you're single, widowed or divorced. However, those are the same generic questions you see everywhere. You can't, for example, say how big your family is, which seems like a shame.

Now on to what I was complaining about in the intro. There are no truly localized searches. You can get it down to country and state/province but only some cities, which seems rather impractical. Even if you were looking to relocate, presumably you might have somewhere more specific in mind than an entire country and one random region of which you might not be familiar. Even if you upgrade and get access to advance search options, they don't narrow down the location any further than that.

There are several options for communication, such as standard email, instant messaging and group chat rooms. Moreover, if you upgrade to the most expensive membership option on Single Parent Love, you'll have the chance to send and receive video mails, as well as preview video introductions recorded by other members. That's really the biggest advantage to the higher-priced subscription, but for many it might seem to have limited benefits, as not all members have some way of posting their own videos.

One thing in favor of the site is that it's always free to reply to instant messages or emails, so as a paying subscriber you'll have the ability to receive a response from anyone you contact. For now, the site lacks visitors and although being able to connect with all members regardless of subscription status somewhat offsets that issue, the lack of localized searching makes it difficult to confirm activity levels in your home territory. SingleParentLove.com needs to work a bit on promoting itself and should consider improving their search engine.
