Swinger Area is an all-inclusive adult dating site. Every kind of hookup imaginable is an option and the site isn't limited to only swinging hetero couples looking for a third partner to join in. You can be two men or two women looking to meet others. You can be a single man or woman of any sexual orientation looking to play. Transgendered people and cross-dressers are welcome too. In other words, this site's scope is broader than most swinger sites offer.

When you join for free, you can search profiles, but only by US zip codes. You can search other countries based on state or province and then choose from a menu of cities that will appear for that specific region. You can't see full profiles from your results, though. Instead, you will only see a brief summary that includes the member's written description of what he or she seeks.

You won't see any physical details, so I wouldn't even consider what you see a partial profile. You do not see the last login date either. Profile photos, which aren't too X-rated, are visible. If there is full nudity, you will need to have signed up to a paid membership, which is rather standard. The site has to have some way of confirming your age before displaying explicit images.

I will say straightaway that something makes me slightly suspicious about SwingerArea.com. The moment I signed up to the site, someone immediately contacted me. I really hadn't included any details about myself and I hadn't uploaded a photo either. That makes the whole thing seem a tad fishy. It is highly unlikely that my few words sparked such interest from a decidedly young lady with a provocative photo. At least she comes from somewhere close to my area.

It also demonstrated a couple of the features on SwingerArea. She contacted me by instant messenger. When she added me to her hotlist, I was notified by email, both in my onsite inbox and to my offsite email address. If I had chosen to reply, I would need to upgrade. I could send a free e-card though. I could also add her profile to my hotlist without paying.

Any email communication - even replying to a paid member - requires paying. It's the same for the chat rooms on the site, which are reserved for paying subscribers. A new phone system that allows anonymous calls between members is in the works.

Despite being offered in English, German, Danish and Italian, the site seems to have a limited number of visitors. Worse yet, Swinger Area is slightly pricier than other sites, which makes it less appealing to upgrade beyond the free trial.
