UK Singles Connection is aimed towards singles living in the United Kingdom. There are, of course, members from other places too. Nevertheless, the majority of members appear to be from the UK, which can’t always be said of some other localized competitors in the online dating market. The site does not receive many visitors, it would seem, when one verifies its traffic stats through our independent source. That lack of popularity remains despite a lowering of price that has made it highly reasonable to join.

Perhaps, one turn off on UKSinglesConnections.com might be the profile sign up process, which is sickeningly generic and utterly lacking in any originality. I know the UK isn’t the fervently flag-waving US, but I imagine British users would appreciate not feeling as if they're visiting an American knockoff site. In my internet travels, I have noticed most companies do tailor services differently when targeting different countries -- including the UK.

What I would say shows a most disturbing lack of consideration for subscribers is that your postal/zip code is only useful if you’re in the US or Canada. If they couldn’t install the appropriate database from the UK, least of all they could make it less evident by not having the feature available to anyone. That makes it tricky to assess your local area if you're living in the United Kingdom. However, you can search to within 10 miles of specific cities on a relatively extensive list of locations in the UK.

To get a more generalized feel of people in the UKSinglesConnection community, you can always read the message boards. Switch over to a premium membership and straightaway you can find yourself joining in live chats, posting on various message forums, sending and receiving e-mails or chatting privately with someone using instant messaging. Otherwise, without paying, you can send a prewritten ecard, or give a 'smile' to someone free.

The site also offers some extra compatibility features, which are maybe cheesy to some, but good fun for most of us. Do a personality test to mark your profile type with a special color to help others know whether the color of their love matches. Fill out a ranked series of questions about the details of your desired mate and their matchmaking system will send you an email with a list of compatible people from the site.

Overall, despite having lowered its price, the site should consider allowing paid subscribers to communicate with free members. It also should continue to work on improving its search engine, ideally adding a postal code option for the UK. Without attracting more members, UK Singles Connection is competitively priced, but not successfully competing in its geographic niche.
