Paris is the "City of Love," or so I thought. But now it needs to move to make room for Lovetropolis, which is a dating site that used to be known as SexySinglesDate.com. Under its old name, it was promoted in commercials on major cable channels. I have no idea if this newest incarnation is much different, because I never saw the old site. Still, I can tell you that this site has a very different approach than most competitors in attracting new members.

You cannot access Lovetropolis.com for free. To be clear, even to create a profile you must pay straightaway. As strange as that might sound from a marketing standpoint, there is some method to their madness. You pay a lower-than-average one-time fee for a lifetime membership, which is nonrefundable. It's supposed to be a limited time offer, so some folks might be happy to get in the proverbial ground floor.

You can check out a few preview links before you sign up. For example, you'll see a page showing a live webcam chat. You'll also see that they have lots of extras, like relationship and dating advice from four well-known experts: Waterman, Emily McKay, Christian Carter and Scot McKay. You'll even get some great recipe ideas for romantic dinners from Chef Jay Jones. An online singles magazine is also offered.

You can read some FAQs to give you some more info about the site's services, like recording audio and video for your profile. You can also link to YouTube to further enhance your description. Profiles are approved if they meet some rather standard guidelines. The site simply asks that you post tasteful descriptions and photos.

You will be asked a good slew of questions that - beyond fleshing out your basic traits and characteristics - should give people a good sense of your personality, which comes into play with Lovetropolis's matchmaking system. You can choose to go with the matches it makes or simply browse profiles on your own. There are local search options and some last login info on results. Members active within a given week show their last login time down to the hour.

According to our independent source, this site doesn't do so well at attracting visitors to its pages. However, there are a healthy number of existing members. The low price certainly makes it enticing to try the site out. In fact, Lovetropolis is so affordable that you really can't go wrong, whether your stay is brief or long.

I m not quite sure why the reviewer gave low scores in the beginning of the ratings but I absolutely enjoyed my time on lovetropolis.com. I met my current girlfriend on there and we are doing great. Thanks lovetropolis.

This review doesn t even seem to be talking about the right site. Lovetropolis has many more features than articles. And I ve chatted with many guys using the web cam feature, so there sure is live chat on the site. Also, I filled out a whole personality survey for their matching system, and the site has made recommended matches for me. Accuracy is only fair! Lovetropolis is a great fun site!

I read this review and it seems a bit off. I ve been a member of lovetropolis now for 2 weeks and their features are far greater and better than match which I was a member of for 4 months and they only had a few features for a crazy price a month. I prefer to pay a one-time fee to meet others especially since it s a new site. I think this review is not accurate but this is just my opinion.

I m not sure what the reviewer missed, but Lovetropolis has TONS of functionality. To name a few: live web cam dating, 5 in-house experts of national repute, an online magazine, virtual chats, messaging and a personality matching questionnaire. The site is newly launched, so of course there aren t millions of members yet, but this is a legit site with great features at a very reasonable price.
